Housing

We deal with housing queries relating to both local authority housing and private rented housing.

Local Authority Housing: we provide information on how to apply for local authority housing and the way in which local authorities assess applications. We also have information on housing schemes for those on low incomes who wish to buy a house, such as the Affordable Housing and Shared Ownership schemes.

Private Rented Housing: typical problems encountered with people living in the private rented sector involve problems with landlords around issues such as leases, deposits and evictions. We liase with expert agencies such as Threshold to inform people about their legal rights and the options open to them.
