Employment

Northside CIS has comprehensive information on all aspects of your employment rights. Typical queries relating to employment include entitlements to holidays, maternity rights for women in employment, unfair dismissal, redundancy rights, payment of wages and changes to working hours. We have a full range of leaflets and booklets explaining employment rights.

The Employment Rights Information Unit of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment has an employment advice telephone line to which we often refer people.

In addition to employment rights, we receive information from unemployed people about FAS schemes, training courses and welfare assistance, such as Back to Work Allowance, and from people seeking to set up their own business. We are also located next to the Local Employment Service, which provides a free employment, education and enterprise service for local people on a one-to-one basis as appropriate to their individual needs.
